With Bassist you can play bass guitar straight from your iPhone or iPod Touch.
- Use it to experiment with new riffs in places where it would be inconvenient to take your guitar.
- Use it to learn about the bass before committing yourself to that first purchase.
- Use it to bring some bottom end to your virtual band.

Play slap bass or finger-pick, or swap between them on the fly.

Both 4 and 5 string basses are provided, and a virtual fretboard can be easily scrolled up to the 12th fret.

Bassist supports left-handed players, flipping over the interface and restringing appropriately.

For best results we recommend playing Bassist through headphones or external speakers.

Originally released in 2009, Bassist reached number 4 in the Music App Charts, and has been featured by Apple in promotional material.

Pros and cons of Bassist app for iPhone and iPad

Bassist app good for

This application has all the makings of a great music app; tons of settings, realistic sounds, great graphics, and easy user interface. Must have for any basist!
I think this app shows a lot of potential. I play bass in a band and I think this is a good way to kind of mess around and try to work on stuff if you are on the road. I do think that this app could be improved slightly. I think that the developer should look into the pocket guitar app to get some ideas to help improve this app. But I know that I enjoy this app and look forward to future versions of it.
Great quality samples seemless sound. The only thing you could add would be fine tuning. Well worth the few bucks.
Great sound and lots of fun. The only is that I wish that you could do is play along with your music. Other than that, this is a great app.
its really kool and has great sound but i wish u could record
Dude this app is amazing n exactly what Ive been looking, good sound to, if ur a Bassist or not youll love this app!

Some bad moments

Look this thing is a waste of money. It only plays loud enough for you to hear if you have your headphones in. There is no point in having a mini bass to play if you cant show your friends. You cant even play along to your ipod music. Just buy a real bass it is more authentic anyway. Besides it looks stupid.
Dont waste your money, tracking stinks and the sound is barely audible.
Dont buy this app! sure its great if you have giant speakers to hook it up to! but otherwise its a waste of your money! They need to update this app so you can actually hear what your playing
I thought this app would be a fun tool to play. But I was wrong. It crashes almost everytime I open it. It will usually open the second time. Volume is low and is often distorted.
The sound without headphones is really low. The tonal quality is a bit less than expected and while its not bad, its not great. Its just eh.
What the heck happened to MooCow? They had such an amazing thing going with their apps, but with each new release of new ones, the products seem to get worse and worse. Stupidly I bought this early on when it was implied that more would be added to it and I never thought, not even for an instant, that MooCow would decide to cut out recording of all things. Just like someone else said, they update their other apps but basically gave up on this one. A couple of other basses and recording would have been enough to make this a decent app. As it is, it is like testing an alpha app with a ton of potential but very little functionality there. Or it is like a demo. But not a paid app, I can assure you and definitely not worth the three dollar asking price. That is almost outrageous to me that the price is left at $2.99 given the state of the app. I only paid 99 cents and would have been pretty bummed had I paid more. Customers probably expect it to be good given MooCows other releases and might thus be willing to pay more. It seems very dishonest to me to continue to charge so much for it. Im amazed, but I waited a long time before posting this, hoping that the devs just needed time to pick it back up. What a waste of an amazing vision. They had such a great start with so much publicity, you would think that would have actually boosted morale and quality. Not so. A loss. I wonder what happened. Anyway, this app is barely worth a dollar, let alone the three that theyre asking for. I hate to say it, but Id look elsewere if you are looking to get a higher quality app for the money.
